Fleur de Lis

This picture was taken in the French Quarter. The Fleur de Lis is the symbol of the French Royalty, and it can bee seen everywhere around New Orleans. You really can't travel more than a block and not see it emblazoned somewhere. Whether its a decal on an automobile, a tattoo, or on a t-shit, or the Saints, they sure love their fleur de lis here!

It was a cool April afternon when we went walking around the french market and then strolled through a few streets to snap some photographs. The rain eventually came and chased us away. I was still able to take lots of pictures, and can't wait til the autumn arrives so we can get some halloween photographs. New Orleans is lovely in the fall, when the weather starts to cool off and you can relax again. This is a pole outside of a French Quarter business that has been decorated with a fleur de lis, painted gold against black.
