French Quarter Balcony

Here is a shot of a French Quarter balcony. Actually, several balconies and three different levels of them! You can see the distinct black iron traditional railings. The quarter is filled with dozens of different patterns and styles of balconies, where you will see displays of lovely hanging plants and flags, to people hanging out. Some lay desolate and in bad condition, looking like they might collapse. They all have their own character and history. Many people decorate their balconies for the holidays, like this French Quarter Christmas Balcony.

During Mardi Gras, they literally grease the poles with a slippery substance to deter people from climbing up them onto the balconies. There are always people filling the balconies, and often females flashing their breasts for beads and other mardi-gras loot. People travel from around the world to visit the French Quarter in New Orleans during this festive time of the year.
