Mosaic Plant

Here is one of my favorite houseplants among the garden parade, my Mosaic Plant. Also called a "nerve plant," this plant needs little sun and is very bright and colorful. The bright pink veins on the deep green leaves is what originally attracted me to this plant when I saw it at the home depot. I have three of them, and they are all growing like crazy and look great. Their leaves get bigger while keeping the same lovely colors and pattern.

Mosaic Plant

Everytime my husband and I go to hope depot, I try and pick up at least one of their little interesting house plants. The plant on the left is a polka-dot plant, which I actually dug up from the yard. It was growing by the fence, and has since become about a 15" tall, bushy potted plant with a couple of its friends. I will get another pic up of that soon, note to self. The plant on the right is a slow growing little bright green and deep reddish brown leaved plant, with these like spiked, wrinkled leaves that grow very slow. They burn easily if they get too much sun, and don't need much water either. But they look so cool. I eventually had to take all of these little plants indoors because too many insects outdoors in south louisiana, and hungry ones at that!
