Pink Lily Flower

Out of an old aluminum bucket out back in the yard, the loveliest pink lily flowers sprang up! Such a wonderful gift of flowers. One day there were almost a dozen, out of nowhere, their faces bright and cheery in the drab old bucket. It was really nice. Unfortunately I missed that shot, but here is one last cheery pink lily flower.

This is in the middle of an insanely hot summer (hurricane season) in the deep south, about 15 miles from the french quarter in new orleans, louisiana. Lillies and gladiolas bloom almost year round in the tropical weather here, although when it rains the water brings them down and makes the flowers too heavy to stand up. But they bloom and bloom like a garden parade.
